Miroslav Sekera is a famous Czech pianist. He starred in Miloš Forman’s film Amadeus, where he in 1984 showed as a small Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. While during his early career he focused on both piano and violin, in his life career he focuses exclusively on piano music.
He studied at Prague Music Conservatory, followed by Music Academy in Prague, led by Miroslav Langer. He succesfuly performed at contest, such as Piano Fryderyk Chopin contest in Mariánské Lázně, also on festivals like Prague Spring. For many years Sekera performs as a solo artist for Prague symphonic orchestra, works also with the Český rozhlas orchestra and performs as a solo artist in the Czech Republic as well as abroad. He released also many albums.
