Pardubické hudební jaro, an annual music festival of classical music and one of the most famous ones in the Czech republic, was opened with the traditional concert of orchestra this year. However, this season’s concert offered a very interesting experience since Ivo Kahánek, one of the most famous Czech pianists, was announced as a participant. In the first part Kahánek performed Tchaikovsky’s Concerto b minor, which brought him and the orchestra a passionate standing ovation.
The excellent performance was also shown by the Prague Philharmony (PKF) led by conductor Marek Šedivý, which through the second part continued with Dvořák’s English symphony (No. 8).
Ivo Kahánek proved his qualities once again as an excellent piano artist, able to play variety of compositions, developed during many different periods of classical music. Beside the brilliant technique, which has to be shown to the audience during every single performed track and is necessary mainly when interpreting the „b minor“, there was also need for passionate performance that Kahánek successfully managed to show.
After the excellent performace, which did not miss the right musical feeling and maturity of interpretation, Pardubické hudební jaro continues, offering many other interesting concerts.
